Things I anticipate you might be asking yourself.

+ Who can join ?
You can. It doesn't really matter. You don't even have to enroll, but then we cannot guarantee anything and it might be more expensive. Everybody is welcome to visit our Colony, but if you didn't pay, you don't have any rights.

+ What is the Colony's goal ?
We want HAL2001 to be as great as HIP97 was. We want your stay to be pleasant and we want the costs to be cheap. Moreover, we want you to enjoy yourself with fellow members. And we definitely want SAFE SEX and WORLD PEACE.

+ What do I have to do to join this Colony ?
Just enroll yourself on this website and we know you're coming. But only if you have paid, you can be sure of a place in the tent. Ofcourse, you also need an entrance ticket for HAL2001.

Don't wait too long before registering. There's a deadline for hiring the tents and the longer you wait, the more chance we cannot get extra tents and you might be excluded.

+ What does it cost ?
We estimated the cost to be no more than 1.000 BEF (25 EUR). But if you pay after 6th August, the subscription fee is raised to 1.500 BEF (38 EUR) and you have to pay in cash at HAL2001. We expect to have at least 40 members in our Colony. If the number grows beyond 40 we'll upgrade our tents accordingly if that is still possible.

+ How do I pay ?
Just transfer the money (25 EUR) before 6th August to the following account:

And mention HAL2001, your name and your nick in the comment-field. Once your transer is verified, we will change your name to green on the members-pages.

+ What do I get back in return ?
By joining our Colony, you will receive good fortune and health and also:

• A place in the Colony's big (10 by 15m) tent, safe from rain, snow, sunburns, wild animals, drunken dutchmen, ...
• A decent table for all your hardware, protected from evil intruders, safeguarded by fellow Colony-members.
• People to share idea's with, friends for life, soulmates, ...
• You'll be part of 'the Flemish horde' and tell all your friends about it. (Whooaw!)
• A nice spot on the campus for the smaller tents in the vicinity of the big tent (reserved space)
• You might have SAFE SEX
• ...

+ What about insurance ?
Moom contacted OMOB/SMAP for price details. For 3 million BEF worth of equipment they charge 22kbef. Equipment can stay in the tent 24h a day but there should at least 1 person supervising at all times.

If you're interested to insure your equipement, contact Moom. What he needs from you is the serial number of the machine, a description of its components, the value and preferably a copy of the invoice. The invoice can be faxed to +32 71 83 40 46.

+ What about transport ?
If you cannot get there by yourself, communicate this through our mailinglist or check the members-pages. Lots of people are going and are willing to take you with them.

+ How do I get in contact with the Colony ?
You can find the latest and greatest information on our news-page and there's a mailinglist for our Colony, just send a mail to: hal2001-subscribe@mind.be.

+ Is there something I should bring ?
The Colony need some more practical stuff like music, powercords, hubs or switches, ipsec-gateway, lcd-projector, dvd-movies, ... To organise this, use the mailinglist and we'll add things to our stuff-page.
